Our curriculum includes classes where you practice/learn in the gi and classes without it (nogi – sometimes referred to as submission wrestling). The classes are still organized by level (see descriptions for fundamentals, intermediate, and advanced class) and the nogi classes will be designated as such on the schedule (if it isn’t designated, then it is a gi class). Generally, there are 2 days of nogi and 4 days of gi each week. For most practitioners, this is a good ratio of practice to aim for though some people will prefer one over the other and plan their training schedule accordingly. Nogi classes tend to include more wrestling takedowns and a broader array of leg locks. If you are looking to learn or compete in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), nogi training is essential for proper preparation, and as Lucas is a 2-time nogi World Champion, there is no one better to help ensure you are ready.
Starting any new sport, much less a martial art, can be difficult. Our fundamentals program allows you to learn the basics in a very controlled, safe, and fun environment. The structured curriculum is designed to effectively introduce all the basic positions, techniques, submissions, and escapes. The classes will prepare you for both self-defense and sport jiu jitsu. It will also improve your fitness, balance, and coordination. The fundamental program is designed for anyone, male or female, of any body type, fitness level, or age (17 or older).
This class lays the foundation of knowledge upon which everything else will build. One of the biggest shortcomings of many jiu jitsu academies is a lack of such a comprehensive system. Our system was designed by the founders of the Alliance team and is unique. As evidenced in our results as the most dominant team in the history of the sport, the system works, and the fundamentals foundation allows you to reach your maximum potential in the sport.

Designed for people who have completed the fundamental & intermediate curriculum and/or have attained at least their blue belt, the Advanced class is for students wanting to evolve their jiu jitsu to the more advanced belts, compete, or test their abilities in the most practical setting. In this class, the whole world of jiu jitsu, from simple to complex, is an open book to be studied, evaluated, drilled, and put into practice. This is the class where champions are made and fitness goals are exceeded. This class includes more complex positional study and more intense sparring.
Designed for those who have completed the Fundamentals curriculum and/or have attained at least a 2nd degree white belt, the Intermediate curriculum will prepare you to get your blue belt, begin sparring, and participate in the Advanced classes. Here, you progress in a systematic fashion to improve your understanding, reflexes, and overall development in the sport. Once again, this is part of our unique system that has produced more jiu jitsu champions than any team in history. While the intermediate class was designed with the white belt in mind, it is also very beneficial for more advanced students looking to perfect their technique or people who may be returning from a layoff.
Our group fitness classes are designed by Lucas’ own personal strength and conditioning coach and customized to maximize the fitness level and performance of anyone & everyone. These 30-45 minute classes use a combination of circuit training and interval workouts with plyometrics, body weight, and resistant band exercises. You will blast fat, increase mobility & strength, and dramatically improve your overall health. You will feel better, look better, and you will be better.
Many of the routines include exercises focused in jiu jitsu movements, so it is also useful to improve your jiu jitsu performance & competition readiness.
